Whenever you see a new Luxury car passing by your way on the road you try to look at its bonnet to identify the brand of the car and it usually happens with all of us. It’s very well said “Luxury cars are known by their logos”. Car logos are considered as the most popular and cost effective way of branding in the car/automobile industry. Car business attracts people due to their new innovative designs and technology. Today is a world of competition sustaining a business is tougher. So extra care is needed in finalizing the creative brand logo design as this gives a unique identity to brand. Having a good car logo reinforce customer’s views about a brand and this helps in higher sales and customer satisfaction.

Many of these logos are the outcome of a unique history about their founders. Let’s throw some light on popular car brand logos which give a unique identity to the brand.
1.Mercedes Benz , a famous and globally recognized brand has a three pointed star logo. This logo denotes the domination of company over land, air and sea.
The word ‘Mercedes ‘ is a Spanish name of a girl. The meaning of Mercedes is grace. In 1989, Emil Jellinek had a girl with the same name .So Jellinek used to race with the powerful vehicles produced by Daimler-Motored-Gesellschaft under his stage name Mercedes. At that time this brand name has nothing to do with the automobile company.It only referred to team and the driver. Present Mercedes is a known after the merging of two big car brands, Daimler-Motored-Gesellschaft (DMG) with Wilhelm Maybach and Benz & Cie , founded by the great Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz respectively.
2.Lamborghini is one of the car which originated in Italy. It has black and gold emblem with bull in the center .This logo was given by Mr. Ferruccio Lamborghini, company founder. Ferruccio like to adore bull fighting and finally chose the same for his automobile company. Now a day’s fighting bull breeds are being used as a name for new models of Lamborghini cars. Lamborghini is using a range of logos like various animal shapes, diamonds and Viking ships. Surprisingly, all the logos used by this car manufacturer are highly appreciated by the car lovers round the globe.
3.Maserati is another Italian branded car in demand which achieved a handsome production output of around 6200 units in 2011. This car brand was started by three of the six Maserati brothers- Alfieri, Bindo and Ernesto. Maria, the fourth brother took care of the design of corporate logo. Maserati logo is in the form of a trident which was highly inspired by the statue of Neptune, located in the central park of Bologna. Maserati signature is also embedded below the trident. This signature was painted by one of the six Maserati bothers named Mario .
4.Rolls-Royce was founded by Sir Henry Royce and Charles Stewart Rolls in 1906. Originally three letters were used in the logo. These three letters denote the first letters of their last name. In 1933 Sir Henry Royce took his last breath. So to honor his sweet memories, red color was changed to black. Another reason for changing the color was to provide better luxury and prestige.
5. Cadillac is an American luxury car brand founded by Henry Leland in 1902.The Company was named so to honor Antoine de la Mothe, seigneur de Cadillac, an ancestor to Henry and also the creator of the Detroit city. Cadillac models showed variety of logo designs; the most featured and well known logo is a crown with V-shaped icon.

So next time whenever you have a look at a luxury car you will be reminded about the unique history of the brand. Owning a branded card nowadays is being considered as a status symbol. It also reflects one’s personality, lifestyle and choice of one brand over the other .A person who owns a branded car with a great looking logo is regarded as superior in the modern society.
